From author to author this book is a great read. As I read it made me feel like I was having crazy hormonal conversations with myself. I laughed while feeling the dark sadness she experienced through her journey. Erin shares the great fear of the jealous monster that I think we all have experienced in our own ways. Take the ride on Erin's journey by reading Fertility Follies it will leave you wanting to hang out and have a glass of wine with her. On Fertile Ground: Healing Infertility![]() Helen Adrienne, L.C.S.W & Author
Mind-Body-Unity Website Are you on Fertile Ground? That is the question. After reading this book I felt free and changed. Sometimes negative experiences bring you to be more aware of what is going on. Helen's personal experience with a miscarriage and the total disregard of the Doctor made me also realize, why? Some things need to be answered. By focusing her attention on self awareness made her move through her adversity to help others. From my own personal experiences with infertility I wish I had some of the exercises mentioned in her book. Then it hit me half way through the book that this information is not only for those with fertility issues but for those that can be guided through everyday life! Stress, anxiety and uncertainty to name a few - you need a solution to carry you through the daily grind. The exercises can help. I actually used a few exercises individualized for my stressful situation at the time of reading the book. I can say it help even if just for that moment. As a great addition to the book, the many brave women that told their stories as well as attending sessions showed a great sense of inspiration for others. I commend the Author for sharing her personal story on the other side as well as opening others up from the inside. Great Read! |

INFERTILITY Road to Hell and Back
![]() Azelene Williams, Author
Memoir of my struggle with Infertility, A failed Adoption, a hate for Abortions and a marriage that fell apart. On Facebook As I read this book it kept me hooked, as if I was experiencing it all over again but in a different country and an earlier time than I began my treatments. I felt the author's pain and disappointment after each doctor's appointment, each injection and every emotional breakdown. As you read, her relationship with her husband changes not knowing if it was the distance you feel as a couple going through treatments or if it was the silent emotional spouse support or something else. Without ruining the book for you, the only thing I can say is that sometimes things happen for a reason, no matter how you try to make things work whether it be a relationship, a cycle being positive or a pregnancy test being positive, it is difficult to imagine the way the things turn out! You never do know your destiny. This book gives you the ups and downs with twists and turns. It will make you feel hopeful in the end! It shows the strength of a woman and her determination to have what she dreamed of for years. |

A children's book about IVF!
This book was an interesting read, at first I was wondering how the process of IVF can be explained to a child in a simple manner, but it was well done. I read the book to my 4 yr old son and he was very interested didn't ask any weird questions, just liked the story and pictures. I felt a little weird about reading the word sperm and egg but no questions were asked about the words because of the great illustrated story seen in a young child's eyes as only to be a boy and girl or a Mom and Dad. The Author did a great job portraying a personal, painful subject to a young audience. I think it was done with taste & should be read to children conceived through IVF. My son now says at night, "Mommy read me the baby book". Some nights he makes up his own words to by looking at the pictures, very cute.
