2016 #NIAW
National Infertility Awareness Week begins April 24th-April 30th 2016. Each year as the awareness week approaches there are many events that are planned to continue the conversation on infertility. This year I will be creating different infographics to share my messages of inspiration along social media. The more we share our stories the more awareness will be raised for the disease of infertility. Stay connected on my blog
2015 #NIAW
Dear Friend......
Letters to explain your feelings when going through infertility

National Infertility Awareness is approaching from April 19th-25th. We need to continue to raise awareness on infertility. Lets help educate, share and let our family and friends know how we are feeling or what we are going through.
For 2015 submit your Dear Friend letter, sharing your thoughts and feelings, things that you want others to know, or sharing how to be more sensitive when approaching the topic or question "When are you having a baby?" This is a great way to let it out, share with others and help others understand the emotional toll infertility can have on you as a couple.
All letters submitted can be signed or signed as anonymous. All letters will be shared on my social media outlets as a way of raising awareness. Your letter will continue the conversation and give you a release of knowing you're NOT alone after reading others.
Please email all letters to me at Franga27@aol.com - You will remain anonymous unless you sign your letter. I understand the privacy of the topic but knowing you can participate in something like this sharing your feelings without anyone knowing can be a great release. If professionals would like to participate with letters of things they have heard patients express, please feel free to submit. The more letters the better.

Extra, Extra: Book Display in CT Library For NIAW 2013
My local library in New Fairfield CT will be displaying a book display featuring books on infertility and adoption including my book and many other great Author's that donated their books to this display. This is a great way to publicly get the word out on infertility, it might be a small effort but big results can only come of it when the books are on display.
A special thanks to New Fairfield Library for helping raise awareness!

Tips for Advocacy Day
- Stay the night before if you can - there is a great reception where you get to meet some of the other advocates and Resolve staff/Volunteer's
- Wear comfortable shoes or easy to take off shoes. I cannot stress this enough; there is lots of walking! I wore a comfortable pair of shoes with buckle straps. Every building I entered I beeped and off came my shoes. I was smart enough to carry another pair of shoes and finally changed. Oh and NO BELTS they beep too or you will be stripping all your metal accessories before you enter any building. That came off too!
- Know what time it is at all times! Scheduling being on time and giving yourself enough time to get there is imperative!
