Even more frustrating is the cost of fertility treatments. These can run couples into severe debt and they are not necessarily effective for everyone. Couples are then left with the question, “Is there anything else we can try?” The answer is yes! Natural methods to help with infertility are out there, and have been proven to solve this trying problem.
1) Check your hormones
Those things called hormones actually play a big role in fertility, both for women and men. When your hormones are not balanced, it is not possible for pregnancy to occur. Hormones in women, like estrogen, progesterone and prolactin, all need to be balanced.
While many people do not know this, men need balanced hormones as well. For men, the most common hormones that should be monitored are testosterone, DHEA, prolactin and estrogen.
Consult your healthcare professional to get your hormones evaluated.
2) Lower your stress
Certain times of life are more stressful than others. A new job, moving, a death in the family—these can all cause stress, whether it’s positive or negative. The body is an amazing thing, because it recognizes this stress, therefore, it does not allow conception to occur.
High levels of stress let our body know that it would be unsafe for a baby to grow inside. After trying to conceive for long periods of time, yet not getting pregnant, it is only natural to get worried and anxious; however, this only hinders conception even further. Exercising, yoga and meditation are all great stress-reducers.
3) Practice meditation
In conjunction with lowering your stress, meditation is a great way to offset its effects. Meditation calms your mind and allows you to relax. Consider using a vaporizer for aromatherapy during meditation, which will even be more effective in terms of relaxation.
Did you know that certain foods can improve your fertility health? This is something you can do right at home to help with infertility. Try to focus on eating foods that are rich in iron, calcium and vitamin C.
5) Keep a chart
Sometimes, the cause of infertility can be as simple as not having intercourse at the ideal times. To remedy this problem, practice charting your most fertile times, as well as when you have intercourse.
When you know your ovulation schedule, you will be able to plan your intercourse around these days. Although this may not be the most romantic way of having a baby, this leads to a much higher chance of getting pregnant!
Although these methods are not proven to cure infertility, they are definitely shown to help in many cases. It is always appropriate to talk to your doctor if you begin to develop concerns, or before practicing any of these methods.
