Time is flying by. Where has the time gone? This week my son went back to school as a first grader. It made me think of things I wish I would have embraced when I was pregnant with him. Sometimes it's just a spark that hits and made me think. It's a mystery; maybe it was the moment of silence when the loud bus roared away as I took a deep breathe, wiped my eyes and smiled proudly. Not sure what triggered this thought but it was a moment for me.
I spent so many years of my life just focusing on getting pregnant to make it through the daily grind that I forgot to embrace my beautiful, scary pregnancy. Especially after loosing a child it was fear to the tenth power. My fears took over my body putting it on auto pilot hearing words in my head "Just get me to the end with a safe delivery and a baby!"
When I was pregnant I definitely embraced the cravings and food fun. It was very scary if I ordered food out and my order came wrong. I still laugh about that now and I probably still act like that now too. I should have embraced so much more. We always want to cover up things that aren't perfect. Pregnancy can bring on so many "imperfect" things that are a blessing in disguise. Waiting so long to be pregnant the bottom line -- I was SCARED to death and HAPPY as can be!
ME PREGNANT: Bloated, round, big boob, big butt, acne grease face (most of the time) exhausted, hungry, cranky hormonal mess.
What I wish I would have EMBRACED:
- MY PREGNANCY WITHOUT FEAR!
- The glow -- the beauty of the hormones working!
- My beautiful big belly
Things I wish I would have done and can't do them now as a reenactment
- Pregnancy Couple photos and Naked beautiful belly photos
From my experiences TIPS:
- Do what you feel at that moment even if it might not feel right at that moment. You can't turn back time!
- Embrace the imperfect and make it perfect for that moment.
- Memories are memories even if you don't have a picture to show for it. Memories live stronger inside of you.
Sometimes the brain works in mysterious ways and you are triggered by things or moments that happen. If you struggled with infertility and are now on the other side after a successful pregnancy what are some of the things you wish you would have embraced??? Maybe you used a gestational carrier and there are things that you wish you could have embraced or experienced. Please share your comments I would love to hear them.
For those of you that are still on your journey, hold onto hope!
